RV Description
This 2021 Ford F-550 Super Duty cab-and-chassis truck was acquired new by the seller and subsequently converted to an expedition-style camper by adding a custom utility body and a Northern Lite 10-2EX Limited Edition camper in addition to converting the truck to a single rear-wheel setup and installing 6.17 gearing, a suspension lift, Fox shocks, and 20 wheels with 41 tires. The camper was finished in Antimatter Blue to match the cab and is outfitted with a galley, a cab-over berth, a dinette that converts to a bed, a Jensen entertainment system, and a bathroom with a shower. The truck is powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes Camel leather upholstery for the forward seating surfaces, LED lighting, a 6.5kW Cummins generator, a 600-watt solar panel system, a Battle Born lithium house battery, a Furrion roof-top air conditioner, fabricated bumpers, and AMP Research power-operated side steps. This F-550 camper has 2,200 miles and is now offered with Snap-On tools, a Ford window sticker, and a clean California title in the name of the sellers business.
The cab was finished from the factory in Antimatter Blue, and the steel utility body, the sides of the Northern Lite camper, and the front wheel arch flares were painted to match during the conversion. The utility body has equipment compartments on both sides and houses a tool chest with drawers, power-operated jacks for lifting the camper, a Cummins 6.5kW generator, an air compressor with hoses and convenience outlets, an integrated water tank, bedliner-coated surfaces under the camper, and a transfer pump for diesel fuel. The camper body features an outdoor shower, folding entry stairs, Dometic thermal windows, power-operated side and rear awnings, a Rayzar automatic HDTV antenna, and a pair of 300-watt rooftop solar panels. Fabricated steel bumpers, a Smittybilt front winch, Baja Designs auxiliary LED lighting, a receiver hitch, and AMP Research power-operated side steps are also fitted.
Modifications by DBL Design of Hurst, Texas, include a 2 ½ suspension lift, Fox shocks, and a single rear-wheel conversion. Black-finished 20 wheels wear 335/80 Continental MPT tires, and a matching spare is mounted on a power-operated lift integrated into the right side of the utility body. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs.
The cabin houses heated and ventilated front bucket seats and a heated rear bench upholstered in Camel leather. Rubber floor liners cover the black carpeting, and silver trim accents the center console and dash surround. Amenities include a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker sound system, Sync touchscreen infotainment, navigation, a reverse-view camera, a 400-watt inverter, and an overhead console with auxiliary equipment switches.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a configurable digital display. The odometer indicates 2,200 miles. The seller notes that the speedometer has been recalibrated to compensate for the tire and gear revisions.
The living quarters are outfitted with insulated walls and ceiling panels upholstered in beige cloth in addition to woodgrain flooring, hardwood cabinetry, and LED lighting. The galley features a composite countertop along with a stainless-steel sink, a Suburban three-burner propane range, a Dometic dual-fuel refrigerator/freezer, and a Contoure microwave oven. The dinette has two-tone leatherette bench seats and a woodgrain table that can be lowered to form a sleeping surface. Entertainment features consist of a Jensen DVD audio system and flat-screen TV.
The cab-over berth is furnished with a queen mattress, built-in cabinets, and side windows, while the bathroom is equipped with an enclosed shower, a toilet, and a power-operated ceiling vent. A Furrion air conditioner is positioned overhead, and other house equipment includes a furnace, a water heater, a Fan-Tastic rain-sensing ceiling vent, a Battle Born lithium battery, Go Power! power management, and heated holding tanks.
The 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 was factory rated at 330 horsepower and 825 lb-ft of torque. It is equipped with an optional engine block heater and an optional 397-amp alternator that charges the dual batteries.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and differentials that have been modified with 6.17:1 gearing. The truck is also equipped with a limited-slip rear differential.
