RV Description
MOTIVATED SELLER
Why buy an Aliner Expedition Offroad? They're light - the dry weight of ours is just over 2,100 lbs - and can be towed by many vehicles, they'll fit in your garage, they're easy to set up, and have a ton of interior space for the size. Why buy *this* 2021 Aliner Expedition Offroad? Because it has a lot of upgrades and all the "fix-its" that typically come up with new RVs, and those specific to Aliners, have already been identified and fixed.
We're offering this as a "turnkey" camper if you like, which would include all the gear and accessories you need, minus food, clothes, and other personal belongings, to hit the road at your convenience. If you want the camper empty, we'll be happy to clear it out for you, or you can sell any items you don't want and make a bit of extra money. We own the camper w/clear title.
I've made a number of mods to our Expedition to enhance livability and convenience:
- Replaced the original 3-way fridge with an electric-only Dometic CRX110S compressor refrigerator (MUCH more efficient and more storage space).
- Replaced the original power center with a newer model that auto-detects the battery type and supports lithium-based battery charging.
- New (and balanced) tires, replaced in October 2024, with about 5,000 miles on them.
- Replaced the original flimsy dinette table with individual fully adjustable tables (note: this eliminates using the dinette area as a small bed).
- Added a pop-up 110V AC + USB and USB-C outlet to the dinette area.
- Added an electric water heater.
- Rerouted the HVAC ducts from under the bed to the two countertops, and also added a third output duct from the HVAC to a vent under the bed, vastly improving heating and cooling efficiency.
- Replaced the foam filter on the HVAC with a MERV-11 that can be cleaned
- Eliminated the uncomfortable sofa/bed and replaced it with a permanent bed arrangement with a futon frame and tri-fold mattress that acts as a much more comfortable couch (easily removable if you don't want it).
- Replaced the original kitchen counter (foam core between two sheets of laminate) that kept pulling loose with a durable 1/2" plywood counter stained with Varathane.
- Replaced screws in the cabinetry and the screws securing the sidewalls to the cabinets that kept coming loose with bolts and locknuts.
- Removed the propane tanks and propane cooktop (I'm not a huge fan of propane).
- Added a tongue box where the propane tanks were located. This box holds a brand new 100Ah LifePO4 deep cycle battery instead of the stock lead acid battery that will keep the fridge going for at least a couple days in warm weather and would work great with a solar setup. The box also holds the power cords, hoses, and various other gear (see below) for setting up:
- 30A power cord, plus a 30' extension (stored under the bed)
- 50A to 30A adapter
- 20A to 30A adapter
- 30A surge protector
- 25ft fresh water hose, plus a second one under the bed
- Pressure regulator
- 2 x 10 ft hoses for gray water from the sink and a 4-in-1 adapter to connect to site sewer
- 3 WaterStorageCube 5.3 gal containers, two for gray water (if your site doesn't have sewer) and one for fresh (if your site doesn't have water)
- Wheel chocks
- Wrench for leveling jacks
- Curt Echo Brake Controller, if your tow vehicle doesn't have an integrated brake controller
Other accessories:
- EAZ Lift Tire Leveler
- LevelMate Pro for leveling the camper
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Interior outfitting:
- Master Chef portable induction cooktop (I like to be able to cook outside).
- Toaster
- Microwave
- Portable vacuum
- Complete set of Magma stackable induction cookware
- 4 place Corelle dinnerware set
- Silverware, cutlery, and basic cooking accessories
- Storage bins, containers, and racks that store easily for travel
- Two folding camping chairs and small table
- Basic tool set
- First aid kit
- 150W AC/DC portable power pack
* We'll also throw in our Starlink for free if you want it and transfer it to you. Note the portable power pack will power the Starlink, giving you emergency comms capability (VERY handy).
* We use a combination of pillows and cushions in the dinette, so it doesn't have "regular" cushions. I'll credit or give you cash back $200 toward your own.
* The drapes on the driver's side have been worn through in a couple spots. I'll credit/cash back $150 toward replacements.
The camper has never been in an accident or suffered damage, other than the original roof vent, which had to be replaced after the plastic lock broke and it flipped backward while towing. I use a "pully" system with para cord that holds it secure and doesn't rely on flimsy plastic lock cams.
Regarding water leakage, first of all, there's no damage or rot. We had some leakage from the roof along the dormer hinges before we learned this trick: tilt the camper about 0.75" (per the LevelMate Pro) to the driver's side. This eliminated those leaks as well as the stream of water from the forward dormer's passenger side hinge that spilled water right over the entry door (and onto your head going in/out). High wind against the rear of the camper can also drive heavy rain under the peak of the roof and may result in some dripping, although we haven't had any issues since I replaced the original weather seal with a thicker one. Finally, most of the leakage we had was through the refrigerator vents while we were driving in the rain. But after we got the compressor fridge, which doesn't require venting like the old 3-way fridge, I sealed over the openings in the vent panels with white Gorilla tape. Not the prettiest looking, but it's kept the water out.
