The Sunset Park RV Volt 1500 is a travel trailer designed for off-grid camping, built by Sunset Park RV, a company based in Shipshewana, Indiana. It’s part of their Volt lineup, which emphasizes solar power and lightweight construction for boondocking—camping without hookups. The Volt 1500 is the larger of the two main models (the other being the Volt 1200), but it’s still compact and towable by a variety of vehicles.

This trailer stands out with its solar setup: it comes equipped with four 385-watt solar panels, a 6500-watt inverter, and a 100-amp lithium battery (equivalent to 400 amp-hours at 12 volts). That’s a hefty power system for a trailer, letting you run appliances like air conditioning or a fridge off-grid for extended periods—up to a week, depending on usage and weather. The design includes a 48-volt electrical system, which is pretty advanced for an RV and allows for efficient energy management.

Inside, it’s got a practical layout: a rear bed, a booth dinette that converts to extra sleeping space, a full bathroom with a skylight over the shower, and a kitchen with dual sinks, a three-burner cooktop, an oven, and a microwave. It’s built for comfort year-round with a 5000-BTU air conditioner, a furnace, and a heated, enclosed underbelly. The construction uses aluminum framing with high-density foam insulation, fiberglass sidewalls, and a seamless fiberglass roof, plus a diamond-plate rock guard for durability on rough terrain. Heavy-duty tires and torsion axles with a 6-inch lift give it some off-road capability.
