RV Description

Extremely rare 6.7L Cummins, Ford F550 chassis, 4x4, 4-door motorhome for sale. Host only made 100 or so of this specific model, and there are very few (if any) with this trustworthy and easy to maintain powerplant. If you are looking for an Earthroamer without the price tag, look no further!

Homer is a 4-door, 4wd, diesel, Super C capable of traversing terrain to get you, your family, and your family's toys, safely to camp. If wild camping is of interest, but the lack of amenities while boondocking deflates your drive to get outside, let this rig get you out into the wild where you can glamp in style. And, at 34 long with a wide front axle it's a breeze to drive, turn around, and get into smaller spots.

Homer's power plant: the factory Ford F550 came with a 6.4L diesel, which has known and proven reliability issues. To combat this, we had the Ford motor pulled and replaced it with a 6.7L Cummins. The conversion was an incredibly expensive and lengthy endeavor but necessary for longevity and ease of maintenance. The truck runs amazing and tows a Jeep JKU with ease. In total, the motorhome and Jeep weigh ~25k, and the rig averages between 8-9 mpg at 25k lbs, and 10-11 at 20k (rig only). The work done in the engine bay, and transmission area, is far too long to list in this ad. Lets chat about it!

Homer's Cab: 4wd (4x4), stellar creature comforts such as heated front seats, adjustable petals (which I didn't know I needed until driving this rid), 4 massive and comfy captains chairs, drop down tv for the back seat, tons of legroom, and an open pass through to the motorhome.

Homer's interior: Fresh face lift!! Gone are those tired 2008 valances and incandescent bulbs! Full LEDs inside, new faucets throughout, custom curtains, removed aging mirrors from the walls, replaced front cap insulation and installed a custom wainscoting styled wood giving the rig a fresh newer look. The dining table and sink toppers are butcher block and were custom made specific for this unit. The backsplash is an adventurers dream (custom made by yours truly), and the countertop space will make even the most discerning chef swoon. The layout is functional and unique with several one-of-a-kind features (check out that back window!). We have another $20k in interior work, including the work pending (listed below).

Homer's Basics: Ford F550 chassis, substantial towing capacity (still figuring this out with the new motor though it tows by 5k Jeep with ease), 60 gallon water tank, 38 gallon gray tank, 38 gallon black tank, 1200 watt inverter, 4 new deep cycle batteries, 40 gallon fuel tank (for engine and diesel generator), huge tv over cab with electric swing arm, tv in rear bedroom, split floor plan with bathroom between kitchen and bedroom, 2 queen beds, 1 dinette bed, toilet room, 3 way refrigerator, 2 acs, the works. Custom bumper, winch, and off-road lights.

Brochure available here with all fun facts! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SpPCKl0CGCzHDC5LJ9xhSMiHCrYWyeI8/view?usp=drivesdk

Homer' downsides: full transparency! Due to motor work cruse control does not work, and likely never will. The unit does not have an awning, it was sold with an awning but it has since been removed. The on-board generator is in the shop, though it is an Onan 5500QD (quiet diesel) and is the reason why you see images with a smaller Champion generator on a rack on the back of the unit. And the slide toppers are in process of being replaced. All this work is expected to be completed early January 2025.

Additional details: I will share receipts, provide a list of all the work we have done, provide all owner's manuals, etc, to the new buyer. Also, this rig comes with our mechanic's contact info. He will be a resource you can call if you have questions (hes not free, but hes a stellar dude). I believe this unicorn is a diesel enthusiasts dream rig!

Why are we selling? Due to a change in life's road map (amicable divorce), it's time for Homer to find new adventures with a new family. Only serious inquirers who appreciate a unique gem need apply.
