RV Description

1996 Airstream Cutter 34’ class A motor home on a Ford F35 chassis. Ford 460 V8 engine, Allison transmission. 61,000 miles.

I purchased this coach from my brother in 2009 when he upgraded to a larger one. In the spring of 2010, during the spring NASCAR race at TMS, the interior carpet became soaked with all the rain. Attempting to dry the carpet, it became evident that I could not dry the carpet and pad, so I began to remove both. When it became apparent, I could not do a decent job of removing the carpet without removing the entire slide, I removed the entire slide. During this process I replaced all the slide rubber seals and replaced the carpet with a heated composite “tile” floor.

Onan 7000 generator provides 55-amp capability and can run both roof A/C at the same time.

Hydraulic leveling jacks and slide actuator system provides simple and reliable operation.

5000 lbs. rated towing capability. 3000 lbs. demonstrated towing a VW GTI to and from Greensboro N.C. in 2014. Route 40 east and west no problem.

Handles and tracks extremely well in snow and adverse weather.

For the years 2009-2011 the coach was used for overnight trips to Bedford IA. for holiday family visits. Sleeping up to six for overnight travel. During the 2011 visit and trip home it demonstrated the ability to track and maintain traction in very slick highway conditions.

Many upgrades: Recent brakes all around, new brake master cylinder, new tires. New hot water heater, heated tile floor, custom dash and computer desk. Side and rear cameras, transmission temperature gauge, interior repairs. What doesn’t work: engine driven A/C has been converted to R234 but needs recharging. Rear cabin A/C not working, Auto stair motor needs replacing. My live aboard for the past three years between residences. Driven 50 miles monthly for propane and or waste tank flushing. Fair exterior (2/5); good interior (3/5); very strong drive system (4/5).
